as Servants of Christ
Christ the Servant’s multi-generational spiritual family commits to putting Jesus’ way of life into practice. We journey together to learn to be and become like Jesus. At Christ the Servant, faith is not a spectator sport, but an active, living expression of love for God and neighbor within all of life… (continue…)
Here’s a funny video with Pastor Chris and Intern Katie trying to find a way to let our community know we care and that Jesus is the hope of the world. One of our mission priorities for 2021 is expanding Christ the Servant’s impact in the surrounding community. We dream of branching out by investing in a new digital sign by the Centerville Road entrance and a communication strategy to reach our neighbors and residents of new housing developments in Vadnais Heights. One focus of our “Branching Out 2021 Stewardship Appeal” now underway is to gather enough increased offerings to make this dream a reality.

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church is a generous group of people! People committed to Jesus. People committed to this church. People obedient to God’s command to be generous. People who are organizing their lives around God’s mission, the Kingdom of God. The big-hearted generosity of this churchis always eye opening to me.

generosity of this church is always eye opening to me.
For over 54 years, Christ the Servant as been rooted in the city of Vandais Heights. While our church has grown and changed over the years, so has the surrounding
community. Serving and reaching our neighbors with the love and message of Jesus has remained a consistent emphasis in our ministry throughout this time.
Hear from our Extravagant Generosity team about Christ the Servant’s “Branching Out 2021 Stewardship Appeal.” This video tells about Mission Priority #1 “Upgrading Our Facility and Technology” and about ways we will be able to branch out into new ministry with increased offerings, including phase 1 of a new sound system and a new phone system both to replace old and failing equipment.
Mission Priority 1 of 3:
Upgrade Our Facility
We are the church.  The people of Christ the Servant come together in community, impacting lives in Vadnais Heights and beyond.
Christ the Servant’s building provides a home for this vibrant ministry.  In normal times, our church home is where we gather for worship.  It’s where people grow in faith.  It’s where we build community.  It’s where we prepare to serve the world.

Dear Partners in Ministry,

“Branching Out 2021” is the theme of our fall Stewardship Appeal. This theme points to what happens as we live out our mission to Encounter God, Love One Another, and Reach the World.

Our grateful response to the gift of life in Jesus Christ is to give generously of our time, talent, and treasure to extend the reach of God’s Kingdom.

In the weeks ahead, you will be hearing more about how we are being called to branch out in mission in 2021. A newsletter article, bulletin inserts, video testimonies, letters and a brochure will inform you of our congregation’s mission plans for the coming year.  (continue)

Pastor Chris writes:

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope” Jeremiah 29:11.

In January of 2020, we celebrated Christ the Servant’s 54th anniversary and committed to seeking God’s vision for our congregation’s future. We approved new mission, vision, and values language with the purpose of guiding us through the next five years of renewal. Our mission statement makes clear why God planted this church in Vadnais Heights 54 years ago.
