Sunday Worship at 9:00 AM, Fellowship Time at 10:00 AM

Adult Bible Study on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM
We welcome you to worship and to serve with us at Christ the Servant!

The Cross & Cradle

Combined into one symbol are the cross and the manger.  Jesus Christ began His service when he was born
of Mary in the manger and completed His service on the Cross.
Therefore, the wood of the cross and the manger are intimately related.  When we look upon this symbol,
we are reminded of Jesus Christ’s complete service for our sakes.

Minnesota has a long and proud tradition of helping refugees find safety and establish new lives in our community, dating back to World War II.

Today’s refugees come from many parts of the world, including Afghanistan, Burma (Myanmar), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Somalia. While the countries change over the years, the human needs are the same. Refugee families we serve have escaped war, religious persecution and violence in their homes — living through what most of us could not imagine, including starvation, desperation in refugee camps and sickness with limited to no medical care.

When refugees arrive in Minnesota, they come with very little — usually what they can fit in a suitcase and the clothes they are wearing. They need a place to live, a job to sustain their families and emotional support to recover from losses and traumatic experiences they have endured.
Our pumpkins are scheduled to arrive on Sunday, October 6, at noon.

We are now scheduling workers for this October event.

Sunday School

begins Sunday, September 15

10:15 AM

The Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11:1-8).
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, his response became one of the most well known prayers in all of history. The Lord’s prayer is a beautiful teaching that will greatly encourage your children’s faith.
Welcome to Sunday School!

Youth Missional Community

Confirmation this year will be included as part of a new ministry experiment for youth grades 6-12 we are calling “Youth Missional Community.”

Beginning Wednesday, September 11, current confirmation students will be invited to gather, along with senior high youth, for a weekly meal and community time held in the home of  Christ the Servant members.

Each week, adult leaders will gather for prayer at 5:30 PM. Youth are asked to arrive by 6:15 PM, when we will begin with our spiritual family meal together. We will conclude each week by 7:45 PM.

Food donations for Youth Missional Community meals will be needed throughout the year.  See further details in the September newsletter!

The Mission of
Friends of Huruma
The Huruma Centre, a ministry of the Iringa Diocese, is a children’s home in Iringa, Tanzania, which provides a safe home, nurture, nutrition, and education for children who, for a variety of reasons, have no family or others to care for them.

On the third Sunday of every month,  the donations from
Coffee Fellowship Hour are sent to “Friends of Huruma.”

Seated in the Presence
Getting up and down off the floor can be difficult for many reasons.  This Yogadevotion class incorporates poses that increase range of motion, improve balance and bring attention to the breath, all using a chair as yoga props.

An 8-week class of chair yoga will begin at Christ the Servant on Thursday, September 12, from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM.  Cost of the class is $72.00.  Sign up at the church (payment due at first class, check payable to Yogadevotion).
